She's growing up too fast!

As a fun way to see Savannah's aging I posted a picture of her last St Patricks Day and a picture of her this St. Patricks Day side by side.  She's changed so much and is no longer a baby.  She doesn't even look like a toddler anymore.  She looks like a little girl.  

Yesterday my husband got a call from Toys-R-Us that the bed rails we ordered for Savannah's bed had come in.  So last night we spent the evening hours converting her bed from a crib to a full size bed.  We didn't want to waste money on the toddler bed rails when ultimately she would move to a full size bed anyway.  We didn't use the box spring and I put her crib mattress on the side of the bed just in case she fell out.  Plus we put the bed in the corner so she'd only have one side to worry about.

Last night she slept like a champ.  She didn't even wake up until Daddy decided to play photographer and go into her room early this morning.  She was out cold until his phone went off.  Luckily she fell back asleep for a couple more hours.

I just can't believe how big she's grown in such a short amount of time.  What's worse is I can't believe she's going to be 2 years old in August.  Time really does fly when you have a little one.

Letter to Shiloh in 2013

Dear Shiloh, In 2 short months your world will be completely turned upside down.  You may not know it now, but that sweet little girl inside your belly has a hole in the bottom of her back.  Don't worry, she's going to be fine and you will make it through the other side a much stronger person.  You're going to be given the option to have a surgery while that sweet girl is still in your belly.  Take it!  You're going to be given a lot of paperwork and a book that explains what Spina Bifida is and all that comes with the diagnosis. Throw it all away!  None of that literature is going to matter when you see that sweet little girl for the first time.  You're not going to thumb through the pages when she bears weight for the first time.  No amount of literature is going to prepare you for that first time she needs a surgery when she's not even 2.  Nothing in those pages will comfort you when you are faced with the reality of her finally needing a shunt.  The time wi

I Think About You

It has been 9 years since my grandma breathed her final breath on the face of this earth.  I think about her almost every day; what she would have thought of her great-granddaughters, what she would think of....well every thing.  While in the shower this morning a song came on that always makes me think of her.  To be honest, this years theme is song titles.  Every blog title from 2020 has been a song title.  This blog is no different.  Fittingly, this song is from the soundtrack of a movie based on the last book my grandma ever read.  The Shack.
